Man cannot live a moment without acting. Even in his deep sleep state of consciousness, his Vital airs-breathing,circulation,digestion continues to act. There's not a moment of hesitation or pause or rest for the Vital airs-They incessantly work from the womb to the tomb.Man acts in the world for his everyday livelihood,to sustain Himself and his family. Man is a thinking creature. Man is different from animals in his thoughts. Man has around 50 thoughts in a minute which roughly works to around 70000 thoughts in a day.
Let us analyse the genesis of human action. Behind every action- which is done through the body- there has to be a preceding thought in the mind. Preceding every thought in the mind there has to be a desire in the intellect. It is the Gurgling desires of the Intellect which prods & eggs the thought in the Mind to act & fulfil itself in acting through the body.Man is different from another only because of differences in the Mind & intellect texture- In the realm of thoughts & desires, every man is different.
wherefrom desires erupt in the intellect? does it have any cause or is its manifestation just accidental. We know for certain that every cause precedes the effect. There cannot be an effect without a cause. Effect is nothing but cause in another form.
Hindu Sastras say that VASANA are the propelling force behind the desire-thought-action. Vasanas are defined as Innate tendencies,Inclinations and Impressions which gurgle and propel Desires. The quality & texture of Desires & thought depend upon the quality & texture of the Vasanas. As long as Vasanas exist desires will gurgle forth from the Individual. If the individual is manifesting criminal desires then it has its cause in its criminal tendencies stored as in an un-manifest form. As the cause so the effect. Criminal tendency alone will effect a criminal desire and then to a criminal act.
Vasanas-Desires-thoughts-action-reaction-impressions(vasanas)- every reaction of the action itself becomes an impression in our sub-conscious,which in time propels again as desire- this cyclical nature of Mechanism of action envelops an individual into a vicious cycle-binding an individual into bondage of ones own impressions created by one own self.Is there an escape from this vicious cycle-Yes,say the Hindu Sastras-that is a topic that can be discussed separately.
Superb!!
